Programming a 2005 Toyota Celica Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Initial Setup Ensure the driver's door is open and unlocked while all other doors are closed. Start with the key out of the ignition.
  • Step 2: Key Insertions (within 5 seconds) Insert the key into the ignition without turning it, then promptly remove it. Repeat this insertion and removal of the key immediately.
  • Step 3: Door Handling Sequence (within 40 seconds) Close and then promptly reopen the driver's door twice. Reinsert the key into the ignition and then remove it once more.
  • Step 4: Comprehensive Key and Door Interaction (within 40 seconds) Again, close and open the driver’s door twice. Leave the key in the ignition on the final insertion. Close the driver’s door. Turn the ignition to ON (do not start the engine), then quickly turn it back to OFF. Remove the key from the ignition.
  • Step 5: Enter Programming Mode The vehicle’s door locks should automatically lock and then unlock within 3 seconds, indicating successful entry into programming mode. If the locks do not cycle, restart the procedure from Step 1.
  • Step 6: Remote Programming (within 40 seconds) Simultaneously press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote for 1.5 seconds. Release both buttons, then immediately press and hold the lock button for 2 seconds. The door locks should cycle once to confirm successful programming. If they cycle twice, the remote was not correctly programmed and the steps need to be repeated. Apply these actions for each additional remote you need to program.
  • Step 7: Conclusion Open the driver’s door to exit the programming mode.
