Programming Guide for 2006 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – CTS-V
(Remote Programming Requires Specialized Equipment)
Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming for remote key fobs. All remote programming must be completed using manufacturer-grade diagnostic tools by a qualified technician or authorized service professional.
Remote Fob Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Confirm that your vehicle requires external programming support, as no manual or onboard procedure is available for this model year.
- Step 2: Schedule an appointment with a certified automotive technician or dealership capable of programming remote entry systems using factory-compatible diagnostic tools.
- Step 3: Bring all current and new remotes to the appointment, as some systems may erase all stored fobs and require reprogramming of each one.
- Step 4: If your vehicle is drivable, consider traveling to the service location instead of requesting a mobile technician. This may lower the overall service cost.
- Step 5: The technician will connect to your vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port using specialized software to access the keyless entry system.
- Step 6: Each remote will be paired electronically with the vehicle’s control module during the session.
- Step 7: Once programming is complete, all remotes should be tested to confirm proper operation of lock, unlock, and trunk release functions.
- Step 8: Ensure you receive confirmation that programming is complete before leaving the service provider. Keep records of all programmed remotes for future reference.
