Programming Guide for 2006 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This model supports onboard programming of keyless entry remote fobs through a specific ignition cycle method. To maintain proper functionality, all remote fobs must be programmed during the same session. Any remote not included in the session will be erased from the system memory.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and ensure all doors are closed.
- Step 2: Have all remote fobs you wish to program readily accessible inside the vehicle.
- Step 3: Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch. Do not start the engine.
- Step 4: Within 10 seconds, turn the ignition from the OFF position to the RUN position eight times, ending with the key in the RUN position on the eighth cycle. This sequence must be performed quickly and smoothly.
- Step 5: After the eighth cycle, the door locks will lock and unlock automatically, confirming the vehicle has entered programming mode.
- Step 6: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote fob. The door locks will cycle again to confirm that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 7: If you have a second remote, press any button on it within 20 seconds of programming the first. The locks will cycle again to confirm it has also been successfully registered.
- Step 8: Repeat Step 7 for any additional remote fobs, ensuring each one is programmed within 20 seconds of the previous.
- Step 9: Once all desired remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
- Step 10: The door locks will cycle once more, indicating that programming mode has ended.
- Step 11: Remove the key from the ignition and test each remote to ensure the lock and unlock functions work properly.
- Step 12: If any remote fails to operate, restart the process from Step 1, ensuring that all steps are performed within the required timeframes.
Additional Considerations: All remotes must be included during the same programming session. Any omitted remotes will no longer function. Precise timing is essential. Delays between steps may result in programming failure. Verify battery strength in each remote fob before beginning. Weak or depleted batteries may prevent successful programming.
