Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming:
- Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port in your vehicle, which is typically located under the driver’s side dashboard, near the right of the steering column.
- Step 2: Insert the Keys into the Ignition Place the vehicle keys into the ignition and ensure the ignition is in the OFF position.
- Step 3: Verify Metal Contact Pins and Connect the Jumper Wire Confirm that there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4. Use a suitable jumper wire to connect these terminals. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the programming process. Make sure you know which terminals are 1 and 4.
- Step 4: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, indicating that the system is in programming mode.
- Step 5: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to program three times within 10 seconds. If successful, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm.
- Step 6: Program Additional Remotes If you are programming additional remotes, repeat Step 5 within one minute for each remote. The system allows up to 4 remotes to be programmed, including any existing remotes. After each remote is programmed, the doors will lock and unlock once to confirm.
- Step 7: Test the Remotes Test all programmed remotes by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure proper functionality.
- Step 8: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once programming is complete, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port.
- Step 9: Remove the Keys from the Ignition Remove the keys from the ignition to complete the programming process.
Key Programming (Customer Key Programming):
Important Note: This feature allows you to program new keys to the vehicle if you already have two valid, registered keys. This process is applicable unless the vehicle was sold in Canada.
- Step 1: Insert the First Programmed Key Insert the first valid key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position for 5 seconds.
- Step 2: Turn the Ignition to the LOCK Position Turn the ignition back to the “LOCK” position and remove the first key.
- Step 3: Insert the Second Programmed Key Within 30 seconds, insert the second valid key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Wait for about 10 seconds for the immobilizer indicator on the dashboard to start blinking.
- Step 4: Program the New Key When the immobilizer indicator starts blinking, turn the second key to the “LOCK” position and remove it. Within 30 seconds, insert a blank key (specially cut for your vehicle) into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Perform this action within 30 seconds of the immobilizer indicator blinking. When the ID code is registered, the immobilizer indicator will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off. If the indicator goes off during the process, there has been an error.
- Step 5: Program Additional Keys If you need to program additional keys, repeat the process from Step 1.
