2006 Mitsubishi Raider – Keyless Entry Remote Fob & Transponder Key Programming Instructions
A. Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Important Notice: This procedure requires at least one working remote fob. If no remotes are currently functional, the programming process cannot be completed through onboard steps. All remotes, including any existing ones, must be reprogrammed during this session or they will become inactive. Preparation: Ensure all remote fobs to be programmed are present. Sit in the driver’s seat with all doors closed and the seatbelt fastened. Make sure no other people are inside the vehicle during the process.
Programming Steps:
- Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position—this is as far as it turns without cranking the engine.
- Step 2: Using a working remote fob, press and hold the UNLOCK button.
- Step 3: While holding UNLOCK (after at least 4 seconds), press and hold the PANIC button as well. You must press PANIC within 6 seconds of pressing UNLOCK.
- Step 4: When an audible chime is heard, programming mode is active. Release both buttons.
- Step 5: Within 60 seconds, proceed with programming each remote: On the remote to be programmed, press both LOCK and UNLOCK simultaneously for 2 seconds, then release both buttons. An audible tone will confirm the signal was received. Within 4 seconds, press and release the UNLOCK button. Another audible tone will confirm successful programming.
- Step 6: Repeat Step 5 for each additional remote, including any currently working ones.
- Step 7: Turn the ignition switch to the “OFF” position or wait 60 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 8: Test all remotes to ensure proper functionality.
Note: A maximum of six remotes can be programmed to this vehicle. B. Transponder Key Programming Important Notice: This procedure requires two previously programmed and working transponder keys. If you have fewer than two, this method cannot be used.
Programming Steps:
- Step 1: Insert the first working key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position (do not start the engine). Leave it on for approximately 3 seconds, then turn it to “OFF” and remove the key.
- Step 2: Within 15 seconds, insert the second working key and turn the ignition to the “ON” position. Wait approximately 10 seconds. The immobilizer warning light should illuminate and an audible chime should sound. Turn the ignition to “OFF” and remove the second key.
- Step 3: Within 50 seconds, insert the new unprogrammed key and turn the ignition to the “ON” position. After about 10 seconds, an audible tone will sound and the immobilizer light will remain on for approximately 3 seconds.
- Step 4: Once the indicator turns off, the new key is successfully programmed. To add more keys, repeat Steps 1 through 3 for each additional key.
