Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions for the 2006 Scion tC

Important Note: The following procedure allows you to program up to four keyless entry remotes to your vehicle. Carefully follow each step to ensure successful registration.

Step-by-Step Programming Process:

• Step 1: Ensure the driver’s door is open and the key is removed from the ignition.
• Step 2: Within 5 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and remove it twice.
• Step 3: Within 40 seconds, close and reopen the driver’s door two times.
• Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition once more, then remove it.
• Step 5: Within 40 seconds, close and reopen the driver’s door two more times.
• Step 6: Insert the key into the ignition and close the driver’s door.
• Step 7: Turn the ignition ON and OFF once to program a new remote while retaining any existing codes. Turn the ignition ON and OFF twice to erase all previous codes and program a new one. Turn the ignition ON and OFF three times to check how many remotes are currently registered. Turn the ignition ON and OFF five times to erase all registered remotes.
• Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition.
• Step 9: The system will now lock and unlock the doors a specific number of times depending on the mode selected: Once to confirm retention programming Twice to confirm full reset and new programming Up to five times to indicate the number of remotes already programmed
• Step 10: Within 40 seconds, press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously.
• Step 11: Within 3 seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote.
• Step 12: The vehicle will lock and unlock once if the programming is successful, or twice if it failed.
• Step 13: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 10–12 within 40 seconds for each additional remote (up to four total).
• Step 14: Open the driver’s door to exit programming mode.
