Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions for the 2006 Scion xB

Note: These steps are used to program the keyless entry functions of your remote fob. You can register up to four remotes. Follow the instructions carefully for a successful setup.

Step-by-Step Programming Procedure:

• Step 1: Ensure the driver’s door is open and the key is removed from the ignition.
• Step 2: Within 5 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and remove it two times.
• Step 3: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door twice.
• Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and remove it again.
• Step 5: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two more times.
• Step 6: Insert the key into the ignition and close the driver’s door.
• Step 7: Turn the ignition ON and OFF using one of the following sequences to choose a programming mode: Once: Add a new remote while retaining previously programmed remotes. Twice: Erase all existing remotes and add a new one. Three times: Check how many remotes are currently programmed. Five times: Erase all remote fobs from memory.
• Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition.
• Step 9: The door locks will cycle to confirm the selected mode: Once, twice, or five times depending on your selected function. Then, up to four times slowly to indicate the number of remotes currently programmed.
• Step 10: Within 40 seconds, press and release both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously on the remote you want to program.
• Step 11: Within 3 seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote.
• Step 12: The doors will: Lock and unlock once to confirm successful programming. Lock and unlock twice if the programming failed.
• Step 13: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 10 and 11 within 40 seconds for each remote (up to four total).
• Step 14: Open the driver’s door to exit programming mode.
