2006 Subaru Baja Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Note: These instructions are for programming the remote locking and unlocking functions of your keyless entry fob. You can program up to four remotes during the same session. Ensure no other Subaru vehicles or remotes are nearby to avoid accidental programming.
Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: If your vehicle is equipped with a security system, disarm it before starting.
- Step 2: Open the driver’s door and sit in the driver’s seat.
- Step 3: Close the driver’s door fully.
- Step 4: Insert the ignition key and turn it from the LOCK to the ON position and back to LOCK, repeating this cycle ten times within 15 seconds. Do not remove the key. Leave the key in the LOCK position after the tenth cycle. The horn will sound once, confirming the vehicle is in programming mode.
- Step 5: Within 45 seconds of the horn sounding, perform the following steps to program the remote: A. Open the driver’s door. B. Close the driver’s door. C. Press and release any button on the remote fob. The horn will sound twice, indicating the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 6: When all remotes have been programmed, remove the key from the ignition. The horn will sound three times, signaling that the system has exited programming mode.
Additional Tips:
- A maximum of four remote fobs can be programmed to the vehicle at one time. If a remote is lost, you can overwrite its code by reprogramming an existing remote four times in the same session. Avoid programming remotes near other Subaru vehicles, as their remotes may inadvertently pair with your system.
