Key Programming (Customer Key Programming):

Important Note: This procedure allows you to program new keys if you already have two valid, registered keys. It is available for vehicles that are not sold in Canada.

  • Step 1: Insert the First Programmed Key Insert the first valid key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position for 5 seconds.
  • Step 2: Turn the Ignition to the LOCK Position Turn the ignition back to the “LOCK” position and remove the first key.
  • Step 3: Insert the Second Programmed Key Within 30 seconds of turning the first key to the “LOCK” position, insert the second programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. The immobilizer indicator on the dashboard will begin blinking after about 10 seconds.
  • Step 4: Program the New Key When the immobilizer indicator starts blinking, turn the second key to the “LOCK” position and remove it. Within 30 seconds, insert a blank, specially cut key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Perform this step within 30 seconds of the immobilizer indicator blinking. When the key registration is successful, the immobilizer indicator will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off. If an error occurs, the indicator will turn off during the process.
  • Step 5: Program Additional Keys To program additional keys, repeat the process starting from Step 1.
