2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander – Keyless Entry Remote Fob & Smart Key

Programming Instructions: For Vehicles with a Remote Head Key (RHK) or Standard Ignition Key Note: This method only programs the immobilizer (key start) function. The remote entry buttons on the key fob cannot be programmed using onboard procedures and must be programmed using specialized equipment. You must have two valid, previously programmed keys in order to add a new key. If you do not have two working keys, professional assistance will be required.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Have your new key physically cut to match your existing ignition keys.
  • Step 2: Insert the first working key into the ignition. Turn the key to the ON position (do not start the engine), leave it for 5 seconds, then turn it OFF and remove the key.
  • Step 3: Insert the second working key and turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start). Within 10 seconds, the immobilizer indicator light should begin to flash. Turn the key OFF and remove it. If the light stops flashing, the process must be restarted. If the light continues to flash, proceed to the next step.
  • Step 4: Within 30 seconds of the flashing indicator light, insert the new, unprogrammed key and turn it to the ON position (do not start). If programming is successful, the immobilizer light will stay on solid for 3 seconds. If the light flashes three times, the process has failed and must be repeated from Step 1.
  • Step 5: After successful programming, turn the ignition OFF and remove the key. The vehicle should now start using the new key.
  • Step 6: Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for any additional keys you wish to add. For Vehicles with a Smart Key System This model does not support onboard programming for smart keys. Registration of new smart keys must be completed using advanced diagnostic tools operated by a trained technician.

Smart Key Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Schedule service with a qualified automotive technician who can program smart keys using manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
  • Step 2: If the vehicle is drivable, transporting it to the technician’s location may reduce service charges compared to mobile visits.
  • Step 3: The technician will connect diagnostic equipment to your vehicle and perform the smart key pairing process through the vehicle’s control system.
