Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions for the 2007 Scion tC
Important Note: This procedure allows you to program up to four remote fobs for your vehicle. Carefully follow the steps below in the correct sequence for successful programming.
Step-by-Step Programming Process:
- Step 1: Ensure the driver’s door is open and the key is removed from the ignition.
- Step 2: Within 5 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and remove it two times.
- Step 3: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two times.
- Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition again and then remove it.
- Step 5: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two more times.
- Step 6: Insert the key back into the ignition and close the driver’s door.
- Step 7: Perform one of the following ignition actions, depending on your desired programming mode: Turn the ignition ON and OFF once to add a new remote while keeping existing remotes registered. Turn the ignition ON and OFF twice to erase all previous remotes and program a new one. Turn the ignition ON and OFF three times to check how many remotes are currently registered. Turn the ignition ON and OFF five times to erase all remotes from memory.
- Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 9: The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors to indicate the selected mode: Once, twice, or five times, depending on the mode. Then, up to four times slowly to show how many remotes are currently registered.
- Step 10: Within 40 seconds, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously.
- Step 11: Within 3 seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the same remote.
- Step 12: The doors will lock and unlock once to confirm successful registration, or twice to indicate a failed attempt.
- Step 13: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 10 and 11 for each remote within 40 seconds.
- Step 14: Open the driver’s door to exit programming mode.
