2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

For Models with Standard Key and Remote Fob (Non-Smart Key System)

Important Note: These instructions are for vehicles equipped with a standard ignition key and a separate keyless entry remote. Follow the procedure below to program one or more remotes.

Step-by-Step Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  • Step 2: Ensure that all doors are fully closed.
  • Step 3: Open the driver’s door and leave it open throughout the programming process.
  • Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition, turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine), then turn it OFF and remove the key — all within 10 seconds.
  • Step 5: Within 20 seconds, close and open the driver’s door three times in quick succession.
  • Step 6: Reinsert the key, turn it to the ON position, then turn it OFF and remove it again — within 10 seconds.
  • Step 7: The door locks should automatically cycle (lock and unlock), indicating that the system has entered remote programming mode.
  • Step 8: Press the UNLOCK button on the remote fob. The locks should cycle again to confirm the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 9: Repeat Step 8 for each additional remote you want to program.
  • Step 10: Exit the vehicle, close all doors, and test each remote to ensure full functionality.
