2007 Toyota Tundra Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Guide
This guide provides instructions for programming factory keyless entry remotes on both Single Cab and Double Cab configurations of the 2007 Toyota Tundra. Timing is critical—each step must be completed within the specified window to successfully program the remote fob(s).
Single Cab Programming Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Remove the key from the ignition. Ensure the driver’s door is open and unlocked. All other doors should remain closed.
- Step 2: Key Insertions (Complete Within 5 Seconds) Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn it), then remove it. Repeat: insert the key again (do not turn it), then remove it.
- Step 3: First Door Cycle (Complete Within 40 Seconds) Close and reopen the driver’s door once. Repeat: close and reopen the door again. Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn), then remove it.
- Step 4: Final Setup (Complete Within 40 Seconds) Close and reopen the driver’s door again. Repeat the door cycle. Insert the key into the ignition and leave it in. Close the driver’s door. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start), then back to OFF. Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 5: Confirm Programming Mode Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock and unlock automatically. If they do not, repeat from Step 1.
- Step 6: Program the Remote(s) Within 40 seconds: Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds. Release both buttons, then press and hold the LOCK button for 2 seconds. The door locks should cycle once, indicating successful programming. If the locks cycle twice, repeat the process.
- Step 7: Program Additional Remotes Repeat Step 6 for each additional remote.
- Step 8: Exit Programming Mode Open the driver’s door to end programming.
Double Cab Programming Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Ensure the key is out of the ignition. Keep the driver’s door open and unlocked. Make sure all other doors are closed.
- Step 2: Insert and Remove the Key Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn it), then remove it.
- Step 3: First Lock/Unlock Cycle (Complete Within 40 Seconds) Using the driver’s power lock switch, perform five lock/unlock cycles, starting with lock. One cycle = lock + unlock. Maintain a steady rhythm (approximately one cycle per second). Close and reopen the driver’s door.
- Step 4: Second Lock/Unlock Cycle and Ignition (Complete Within 40 Seconds) Perform another five lock/unlock cycles using the power lock switch, starting with lock. Insert the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start), then back to OFF. Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 5: Confirm Programming Mode Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle once (lock and unlock). If they do not, restart the process from Step 1.
- Step 6: Program the Remote(s) Within 40 seconds: Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second. Release both buttons, then press and hold the LOCK button for 2 seconds. The door locks should cycle once, indicating successful programming. If the locks cycle twice or do not cycle, repeat Step 6.
- Step 7: Program Additional Remotes Repeat Step 6 for each new remote.
- Step 8: Exit Programming Mode Close the driver’s door to finalize the procedure.
