2008 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2008 Buick Allure does not support onboard programming. All smart key remotes must be programmed using professional diagnostic equipment by a certified technician or authorized dealer.
- Step 1: Confirm whether you are replacing a lost key fob or adding a new one. All remotes must typically be programmed together in the same session.
- Step 2: Arrange service with a technician or dealer who has access to GM-approved programming tools and software.
- Step 3: Bring all current remotes to the appointment. Any key fob not present during programming may be removed from the vehicle’s system.
- Step 4: If the vehicle is drivable, consider taking it to the service provider to help reduce potential mobile service fees.
- Step 5: If no working remotes are available, ensure you bring valid proof of ownership, such as your registration or title, before programming can begin.
- Step 6: The technician will connect specialized diagnostic equipment to your vehicle’s onboard port to access the remote programming system.
- Step 7: The new remote will be securely programmed into the vehicle’s memory, enabling full functionality such as locking, unlocking, and ignition access.
- Step 8: Once programming is complete, the technician will test the fob to ensure all keyless functions are working properly.
- Step 9: Personally test each feature—lock, unlock, trunk release, and panic alarm—to confirm proper operation.
- Step 10: If programming multiple remotes, they must all be added within the same session to ensure they are correctly synchronized with the vehicle.
