<h1>2008 Honda Element &ndash; Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions</h1> <p><font size="3"><b>Important Notice:</b> When programming mode is activated, all previously stored remote codes will be deleted. Any remote not reprogrammed during this session will no longer function. To keep the vehicle in programming mode, you must complete each step within five seconds of the previous. </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Sit in the driver&rsquo;s seat and make sure all doors are closed and unlocked. Have all remotes you wish to program nearby and ready to use. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ON (II) position. This is the position just before starting the engine; dash lights will illuminate, but the engine should remain off. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Within five seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the first remote. This begins the programming process. Any compatible remote, whether used or new, may be used. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Turn the ignition switch back to the LOCK (0) position. This completes one cycle of the process. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Repeat Steps 2 through 4 two more times, for a total of three full ON &rarr; button press &rarr; OFF cycles. Be sure to keep timing tight&mdash;each step must be completed within five seconds of the previous one. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: After completing the third cycle, turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position once more. You should now be in remote programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button again on the same remote used in Step 3. The door locks should cycle automatically (lock and unlock), confirming successful entry into programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Within five seconds, press the LOCK or UNLOCK button on any additional remote you wish to program. After each press, wait for the door locks to cycle to confirm that the remote has been accepted. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Repeat Step 8 for each additional remote, one at a time. Always wait for the lock cycle before proceeding to the next remote.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 10: Once all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition switch back to the LOCK (0) position. This exits programming mode and stores all programmed remote codes.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 11: Remove the key from the ignition and test each remote by locking and unlocking the doors. Verify that all programmed remotes are functioning as expected. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 12: If any remote fails to respond or if the locks don&rsquo;t cycle during programming, repeat the entire procedure from Step 1.
