Important Notice: Ensure all steps are followed carefully to successfully program your keyless entry remote fob. If programming does not work, consider seeking professional assistance.

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming:

  • Step 1: Locate the Data Port Find the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, usually located to the right of the steering column.
  • Step 2: Insert the Keys into the Ignition Place the vehicle keys into the ignition and set the ignition to the OFF position.
  • Step 3: Check Metal Contact Pins and Connect the Jumper Wire Verify that there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 of the Data Port. Use an appropriate jumper wire to connect these terminals. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the entire programming process. Be sure to identify which terminals are 1 and 4.

Key Programming (Customer Key Programming):

Important Note: This feature allows you to program new keys if you already have two valid, registered keys. This procedure applies to vehicles that were not sold in Canada.

  • Step 1: Insert the First Programmed Key Insert the first valid key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position for 5 seconds.
  • Step 2: Turn the Ignition to the LOCK Position Turn the ignition back to the “LOCK” position and remove the first key.
  • Step 3: Insert the Second Programmed Key Within 30 seconds of turning the first key to the “LOCK” position, insert the second programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Wait about 10 seconds for the immobilizer indicator on the dashboard to begin blinking.
  • Step 4: Program the New Key When the immobilizer indicator begins blinking, turn the second key to the “LOCK” position and remove it. Within 30 seconds, insert a blank key (specially cut for your vehicle) into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Perform this step within 30 seconds of the immobilizer indicator blinking. When the ID code registration is complete, the immobilizer indicator will turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off. If an error occurs, the indicator will turn off during the process.
  • Step 5: Program Additional Keys To program additional keys, repeat the process starting from Step 1.
