Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions for the 2008 Scion tC
Important Note: This procedure allows you to program up to four remote fobs. Follow the steps precisely for successful registration.
Step-by-Step Programming Process:
- Step 1: Ensure the driver’s door is open and the key is removed from the ignition.
- Step 2: Within 5 seconds, insert the key into the ignition and remove it twice.
- Step 3: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two times.
- Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and then remove it again.
- Step 5: Within 40 seconds, close and open the driver’s door two more times.
- Step 6: Insert the key into the ignition switch and close the driver’s door.
- Step 7: Choose your desired programming mode and perform the following: Turn the ignition ON and OFF once to program a new remote while keeping previously programmed remotes. Turn the ignition ON and OFF twice to erase all previous remotes and program a new one. Turn the ignition ON and OFF three times to display the number of remotes currently registered. Turn the ignition ON and OFF five times to erase all remotes from memory.
- Step 8: Remove the key from the ignition.
- Step 9: The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors based on the mode selected: Once, twice, or five times to confirm the selected function. Then, up to four times slowly to indicate how many remotes are currently registered.
- Step 10: Within 40 seconds, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously.
- Step 11: Within 3 seconds, press either the LOCK or UNLOCK button on the remote.
- Step 12: The doors will lock and unlock once to confirm successful programming, or twice to indicate that programming failed.
- Step 13: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 10 and 11 within 40 seconds for each remote. Up to four remotes can be registered.
- Step 14: To exit programming mode, open the driver’s door.
