2008 Toyota Camry Solara Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: This model supports onboard programming of keyless entry remotes. Follow each step carefully and perform all actions within the required timeframes to ensure success.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle Remove the key from the ignition. Open the driver’s door and leave it open. Ensure all other doors are closed, and the driver’s door remains unlocked.
  • Step 2: Key Insertion Sequence (Complete Within 5 Seconds) A. Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn), then remove it. B. Repeat: insert the key a second time (do not turn), then remove it.
  • Step 3: Door Movement and Key Insert (Complete Within 40 Seconds) A. Close, then reopen the driver’s door. B. Close, then reopen the driver’s door again. C. Insert the key into the ignition (do not turn), then remove it.
  • Step 4: Additional Door and Ignition Sequence (Complete Within 40 Seconds) A. Close and reopen the driver’s door. B. Close and reopen the driver’s door again. C. Insert the key into the ignition and leave it inserted. D. Close the driver’s door. E. Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine), then return it to OFF. F. Remove the key from the ignition.
  • Step 5: Confirm Entry into Programming Mode Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should automatically lock and unlock, confirming entry into programming mode. If this does not occur, repeat the procedure from Step 1.
  • Step 6: Program the Remote(s) (Complete Within 40 Seconds) A. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds, then release. B. Immediately press and hold the lock button alone for 2 seconds, then release. If successful, the door locks will lock and then unlock once. If the locks cycle twice, the remote was not accepted—repeat steps A and B. C. Repeat the same process for each additional remote.
  • Step 7: Exit Programming Mode Open the driver’s door to end the session.
