If programming was successful, the new key will start the engine and operate the remote entry system.</li> <li> Step 10: Test the new key by starting the engine and using the remote functions. If unsuccessful, wait 10 seconds and repeat the procedure from Step 1.</li> </ul> Part 2: Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key (Smart Key with Push-Button Start) Requirements: You must have two working intelligent access keys already programmed to the vehicle. A maximum of four smart keys can be programmed. If you have only one or none, professional programming is required. Step-by-Step Instructions: <ul> <li>Step 1: Ensure the ignition is OFF and that all doors are closed. </li> <li>Step 2: Place the new unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key inside the backup pocket in the glove box. </li> <li>Step 3: Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times. </li> <li>Step 4: Press and release the brake pedal once. </li> <li>Step 5: Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times. </li> <li>Step 6: Press and release the brake pedal once again. The indicator light on the START/STOP button should begin to rapidly flash, indicating that the vehicle has entered programming mode and two valid keys are detected.</li> <li> Step 7: Within one minute, press the START/STOP button once. The message center will confirm that the new key has been successfully programmed. If the vehicle already has four smart keys stored, you will see a message: “MAX # OF FOBS LEARNED.” No additional keys can be added without erasing an existing one. </li> <li>Step 8: Remove the new key from the glove box pocket. </li> <li>Step 9: Press the lock or unlock button on the new key to exit programming mode. </li> <li>Step 10: Test the new key by starting the vehicle with push-button start and verifying remote entry functions (lock, unlock, trunk, etc.).</li> </ul>
