Programming Instructions for 2009 Mazda B-Series Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2009 Mazda B-Series is equipped with on-board programming capability for keyless entry remotes. This procedure allows you to program up to two remotes during one session. Ensure each step is completed promptly, as timing is essential.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Confirm all vehicle doors are completely closed and the ignition is turned off.
  • Step 2: Open the driver’s door, press the UNLOCK button on the driver-side door panel, and keep the door open.
  • Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition.
  • Step 4: Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (the position just before the engine cranks) eight times within 10 seconds, ending on the eighth turn in the RUN position. – The door locks will cycle, indicating that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
  • Step 5: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote. – The door locks will cycle, confirming successful programming of the remote.
  • Step 6: Within the following 20 seconds, press any button on the second remote (if applicable). – The door locks will cycle again, confirming programming of the second remote.
  • Step 7: Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. – The door locks will cycle once more, indicating the vehicle has exited programming mode.
  • Step 8: Test both remotes to verify that lock and unlock functions are working as expected.
  • Step 9: If programming does not succeed, repeat the process from Step 1, ensuring that all steps are performed within the required time limits.
