Important Notice: Follow each step carefully to ensure the proper programming of your keyless entry remote fob. If you experience issues, consider seeking professional assistance.

Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming:

  • Step 1: Locate the Data Port Identify the Data Port, which is typically located under the driver’s side dashboard, near the right of the steering column.
  • Step 2: Insert the Keys into the Ignition Place the vehicle keys into the ignition and set the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  • Step 3: Check Metal Contact Pins and Connect the Jumper Wire Ensure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4 of the Data Port. Use a suitable jumper wire to connect these terminals. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the entire programming procedure. Confirm you know which terminals are 1 and 4.
  • Step 4: Activate Programming Mode Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch six times. The doors will automatically lock and unlock once, indicating the system has entered programming mode.
  • Step 5: Program the First Remote Press the LOCK button on the remote you wish to program three times within 10 seconds. The doors will lock and unlock once to confirm successful programming.
  • Step 6: Program Additional Remotes To program up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes), repeat Step 5 within one minute for each remote. The doors will lock and unlock once after each successful registration to confirm programming.
  • Step 7: Test the Remotes Test each programmed remote by pressing the lock/unlock buttons to ensure functionality.
  • Step 8: Disconnect the Jumper Wire Once programming is complete and the remotes are verified, disconnect the jumper wire from the Data Port.
  • Step 9: Remove the Keys from the Ignition Finally, remove the keys from the ignition to complete the programming procedure.

Key Programming (Customer Key Programming):

Important Note: This procedure is available if you have two valid, registered keys and a blank (unregistered) key. It applies to vehicles that are not sold in Canada.

  • Step 1: Insert the First Programmed Key Insert the first programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position for 5 seconds.
  • Step 2: Turn the Ignition to the LOCK Position Turn the ignition back to the “LOCK” position and remove the first key.
  • Step 3: Insert the Second Programmed Key Within 30 seconds of turning the first key to the “LOCK” position, insert the second programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Wait about 10 seconds for the immobilizer indicator on the dashboard to start blinking.
  • Step 4: Program the New Key Once the immobilizer indicator begins blinking, turn the second valid key to the “LOCK” position and remove it. Within 30 seconds, insert a blank key (specially cut for your vehicle) into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Perform this within 30 seconds of the immobilizer indicator blinking. When the registration is successful, the immobilizer indicator will stay on for 3 seconds, then turn off. If an error occurs, the indicator will turn off during the process.
  • Step 5: Program Additional Keys If you need to program another key, repeat the process starting from Step 1.
