2009 Mitsubishi Raider – Keyless Entry Remote Fob & Transponder Key Programming Instructions
A. Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Important Notice: To use the onboard procedure, you must have at least one working remote fob. All remotes to be used must be present during the session, as any remotes not reprogrammed will be erased from the system. Preparation: Ensure all remotes (both new and existing) are available. Sit in the driver's seat with the seatbelt buckled and all doors closed. Make sure no one else is inside the vehicle during programming.
Programming Steps:
- Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position (just before engine cranking). Step 2: Using a working remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button.
- Step 3: While still holding the UNLOCK button, press and hold the PANIC button within 6 seconds.
- Step 4: Wait for an audible chime, confirming the system has entered programming mode. Then release both buttons.
- Step 5: Within 60 seconds, for each remote (including working ones), follow this sequence: Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK at the same time for 2 seconds, then release both buttons Wait for an audible tone Within 4 seconds, press and release the UNLOCK button A second tone confirms successful programming
- Step 6: Repeat Step 5 for all additional remotes.
- Step 7: Turn the ignition switch to “OFF” or wait 60 seconds to automatically exit programming mode.
- Step 8: Test all remotes to confirm they function properly. Note: A maximum of six remote fobs can be registered to the system.
B. Transponder Key Programming Important Notice: This process requires two previously programmed transponder keys. If only one is available, onboard programming cannot be completed.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Insert the first working transponder key into the ignition. Turn it to the “ON” position (do not start the engine). Wait 3 seconds, then turn the ignition to “OFF” and remove the key.
- Step 2: Within 15 seconds, insert the second working key and turn it to the “ON” position. Wait approximately 10 seconds. The immobilizer light will illuminate and an audible chime will sound. Turn the ignition to “OFF” and remove the second key.
- Step 3: Within 50 seconds, insert the new, unprogrammed key. Turn the ignition to the “ON” position. After about 10 seconds, a chime will sound and the immobilizer light will remain on for 3 seconds. This indicates successful programming.
- Step 4: To add additional keys, repeat Steps 1 through 3 for each new key.
