2009 Suzuki Equator Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions
Important Notice: All existing remote codes will be erased when a new transmitter is programmed. Be sure to have all remotes (new and existing) on hand during the process, as each one must be reprogrammed.
Programming Procedure:
- Step 1: Close and lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock switch.
- Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition, then remove it completely. Repeat this six times within 10 seconds. Ensure the key is fully removed each time. The hazard lights will flash to indicate the vehicle is in programming mode. Note: If performed too quickly, the system may not enter programming mode. Repeat if necessary.
- Step 3: Insert the key once more and turn it to the ACC (Accessory) position.
- Step 4: Within 5 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The hazard lights should flash once to confirm successful programming. Do not press the button more than once.
- Step 5: To program additional remotes: Use the driver’s side switch to unlock then lock all doors. Within 5 seconds, press any button on the next remote. The hazard lights will flash again to confirm. Repeat for all remaining remotes (maximum of 4 total).
- Step 6: Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it from the ignition.
- Step 7: Use the driver’s side switch to unlock the doors, then open the driver’s door to complete the process.
