Notes:

  • A maximum of four remotes can be stored in memory at one time. If a fifth remote is programmed, all existing remotes will be automatically erased. Programming a new remote will clear all previous codes, so all remotes must be programmed during the same session. Have all remotes ready before beginning the procedure.

Smart Key Programming Steps:

  • Step 1: Close all vehicle doors.
  • Step 2: Sit in the driver’s seat and confirm the driver’s door is unlocked.
  • Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition.
  • Step 4: Complete the following sequence within 25 seconds:
  • A) Press the driver’s door lock switch to LOCK, then to UNLOCK.
  • B) Repeat the lock/unlock action two more times.
  • C) Press the switch once more to LOCK.
  • D) Remove the key from the ignition and reinsert it.
  • E) Repeat the removal and reinsertion of the key three more times (total of four cycles).
  • F) Turn the ignition to the START position and allow the engine to run for 3 seconds.
  • G) Proceed to Step 5 within 60 seconds after starting the engine.Note:If Steps 4A–F are not completed within 25 seconds or Step 5 is not performed within 60 seconds after engine start, the process must be restarted.
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. A buzzer will sound twice, and the door locks will cycle from lock to unlock, confirming programming mode.
  • Step 6: Press any button (LOCK, UNLOCK, or PANIC) on the remote. The buzzer will sound twice, and the door locks will cycle again to confirm the remote has been programmed. To add more remotes, repeat this step for each one within 30 seconds.
  • Step 7: To complete programming, either remove the key from the ignition or turn the ignition to the ON position.
  • Step 8: Test each remote to confirm full functionality of both keyless entry and push-button start systems. If any remote fails to operate, repeat the procedure from the beginning.

Security Reminder:

  • If a remote has been lost, reprogramming a new one will automatically erase all previously stored remotes. For security, always program all active remotes during the same session. Any remotes not reprogrammed at that time will no longer function.
