2009 Suzuki XL7 Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

For Models Equipped with Driver Information Center (DIC)

Important Note: These instructions apply to vehicles featuring a Driver Information Center. A maximum of eight remotes can be programmed to the system.

Step-by-Step Procedure:

  • Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine). This will activate the Driver Information Center (DIC) screen.
  • Step 2: Press the vehicle information button repeatedly until the display shows “PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY.”
  • Step 3: Press the set/reset button. The screen will update to show “REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE,” confirming the vehicle is in programming mode.
  • Step 4: Take the first remote fob and press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. Hold for approximately 15 seconds until a chime sounds, indicating the remote has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 5: To add additional remotes, repeat Step 4 for each one. You may program up to eight remotes during the same session.
  • Step 6: Once all remotes are programmed, turn the ignition key to the OFF position and remove it to exit programming mode.
  • Step 7: Test each remote to ensure all functions operate correctly.
