2009 Toyota Yaris Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Programming Instructions: These instructions focus solely on programming the remote portion of a Key/Remote combo. If the key portion has a transponder chip, it will also need to be cut and programmed separately.

Follow these steps to program the remote:

  • Step 1: Ensure the driver’s door is open and unlocked with the key out of the ignition.
  • Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and remove it twice within 5 seconds.
  • Step 3: Close and open the driver's door twice within 40 seconds.
  • Step 4: Insert the key into the ignition and then remove it.
  • Step 5: Again, close and open the driver's door twice within 40 seconds.
  • Step 6: Insert the key back into the ignition.
  • Step 7: Close the driver’s door.
  • Step 8: Turn the ignition switch from ""LOCK"" to ""ON"" and back to ""LOCK"" to select the programming mode: Turn to ""ON"" and back to ""LOCK"" once for ADD mode (to add a new remote). Turn to ""ON"" and back to ""LOCK"" twice for REWRITE mode (to clear old remotes and add new).
  • Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition.
  • Step 10: The vehicle’s power locks will now cycle from ""lock"" to ""unlock"" to confirm the mode selection, corresponding to the number of times you cycled the key in step 8.
  • Step 11: Within 40 seconds of the power locks cycling: Press both the Lock and Unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously. Within 3 seconds, press the Lock button on the transmitter for more than 1 second. If the programming is successful, the power locks will cycle once to indicate success. If the locks cycle twice, there is a problem with the transmitter. Repeat this step for any additional remotes you wish to program.
  • Step 12: Open the driver’s door to exit the programming mode.
