2010 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2010 Buick Allure does not support onboard programming. Smart key remotes must be programmed by a qualified technician or authorized dealer using specialized diagnostic tools.
- Step 1: Identify whether you are replacing a lost key fob or adding a new one. All remotes generally need to be programmed together in the same session for full functionality.
- Step 2: Schedule service with a qualified technician or authorized dealer who is equipped with the necessary diagnostic equipment for programming the smart key remote.
- Step 3: Bring all working remotes to the appointment. Any key fob not present during programming may be removed from the system and will no longer work.
- Step 4: If your vehicle is drivable, driving it to the technician’s location is often more economical than using mobile service.
- Step 5: If no working remotes are available, ensure you bring proof of ownership (such as your vehicle’s title or registration) before programming begins.
- Step 6: The technician will connect factory-grade diagnostic equipment to the vehicle’s onboard system to access the key fob programming interface.
- Step 7: The new smart key will be electronically paired with the vehicle’s system, allowing it to control features such as lock/unlock, ignition, and more.
- Step 8: After programming, the technician will test the key fob to ensure it works correctly with all features, including keyless entry and engine start.
- Step 9: Test the remote personally to confirm that all functions—such as trunk release, panic alarm, and proximity entry—are working properly.
- Step 10: If multiple remotes are being programmed, ensure they are all added during the same session to ensure synchronization and proper system integration.
