2010 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob and Ignition Key – LaCrosse
Important Notice: The 2010 Buick LaCrosse supports different programming procedures depending on whether the vehicle uses a traditional flip key or a smart key (Keyless Access). Follow the correct set of instructions below based on your key type and situation.
Section 1: Ignition Key Programming – Flip Key Models
A. If All Keys Are Lost: This vehicle does not support onboard programming if no working key is available. A new key must be programmed using professional diagnostic equipment by a qualified technician.
B. If You Have One Working Flip Key and Want to Add Another:
- Step 1: Insert the working key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
- Step 2: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Step 3: Within five seconds, insert the new key and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
- Step 4: Wait for the security light to turn off, indicating that the new key has been programmed.
- Step 5: Repeat steps 1–4 to program any additional keys.
Section 2: Remote Fob Programming – Smart Key (Keyless Access) Models
A. If All Smart Keys Are Lost:
- Step 1: Insert the emergency key blade into the driver’s door lock. Turn to the unlock position five times within ten seconds.
- Step 2: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display ""Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.""
- Step 3: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the DIC shows ""Press Engine Start Button to Learn"", then press the ignition button.
- Step 4: The DIC will again display ""Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.""
- Step 5: Repeat Step 3 two more times (three cycles total). After the third cycle, the DIC will show ""Ready For Remote #1"".
- Step 6: Remove the cupholder insert in the center console to access the transmitter pocket. Place the new smart key inside this pocket.
- Step 7: Press the Start/Stop button. The DIC will show ""Ready For Remote #2"" once the transmitter is accepted.
- Step 8: Remove the smart key from the pocket and press the Unlock button.
- Step 9: To program additional smart keys, repeat Steps 6–8.
- Step 10: When all remotes have been programmed, press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds to exit programming mode.
B. If You Have One Working Smart Key and Want to Add Another:
- Step 1: Place the working smart key in the front cupholder.
- Step 2: Insert the emergency key blade from the new transmitter into the driver’s door and cycle to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 3: The DIC will display ""Ready For Remote #2, 3, 4, or 5"" depending on how many remotes are already paired.
- Step 4: Place the new smart key into the transmitter pocket, located under the cupholder inside the center console.
- Step 5: Press the Start/Stop button. When accepted, the DIC will confirm readiness for the next remote.
- Step 6: Remove the key from the pocket and press the Unlock button.
- Step 7: Repeat Steps 4–6 for each additional remote.
- Step 8: When finished, press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds to exit programming mode.
