Programming Guide for 2010 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2010 model is equipped with onboard programming functionality for remote keyless entry fobs. Depending on the vehicle’s configuration, the process will use either Driver Information Center (DIC) buttons or the trip odometer reset stem. These instructions apply only to remote fobs and do not include ignition key programming.
If Your Vehicle Has Driver Information Center (DIC) Buttons:
- Step 1: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
- Step 2: Press the Vehicle Information button repeatedly until the message PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY appears on the display.
- Step 3: Press the Set/Reset button. The display will update to REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE, indicating that the vehicle is in programming mode.
- Step 4: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. Hold for approximately 15 seconds until a chime sounds, confirming that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for any additional remotes. The system supports programming of up to eight remote fobs.
- Step 6: When programming is complete, turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Step 7: Test all remotes to verify full functionality.
If Your Vehicle Does Not Have Driver Information Center (DIC) Buttons:
- Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is in Park (P). Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position (do not start the engine).
- Step 2: Press the trip odometer reset stem repeatedly until the message RELEARN REMOTE KEY appears on the display.
- Step 3: Press and hold the trip odometer reset stem for approximately three seconds. The display will then show REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE, confirming programming mode has begun.
- Step 4: On the first remote, press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time. Hold for about 15 seconds until a chime sounds to indicate successful programming.
- Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for each additional remote. The system supports a maximum of eight fobs.
- Step 6: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Step 7: Test each remote to confirm proper operation of all features.
Additional Considerations:
System Limit: A total of eight remote fobs can be programmed to the vehicle.
Battery Health: Ensure all remotes have functional batteries prior to starting the procedure.
Ignition Key Programming: The ignition key requires specialized tools and must be programmed by a qualified technician. This guide does not cover that process.
Troubleshooting Tip: If a remote fails to respond, restart the process from Step 1 and try again.
