Important Notice: The 2010 Cadillac SRX supports onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. The programming method varies depending on whether you have at least one working remote or none at all. Follow the appropriate procedure below based on your situation.
If You Have One Working Remote:
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely off.
- Step 2: Place the currently recognized remote(s) in the cupholder.
- Step 3: Have your new remote ready nearby.
- Step 4: Insert the mechanical key into the driver’s side exterior door lock.
- Step 5: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within ten seconds.
- Step 6: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display READY TO LEARN ELECTRONIC KEY #2, or the next available number.
- Step 7: Open the center console between the driver and front passenger seats. Lift the tray to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 8: Place the new remote fob into the transmitter pocket with the buttons facing forward.
- Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The DIC will confirm the remote has been successfully programmed and indicate readiness for the next one.
- Step 10: Remove the newly programmed remote and press the Unlock button to confirm operation.
- Step 11: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 7 through 10 for each.
- Step 12: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Test all remotes to ensure they function correctly.
If You Have No Working Remotes:
