2010 Honda Insight – Smart Key Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: The 2010 Honda Insight does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. These remotes must be programmed using advanced diagnostic tools by a trained automotive technician who can securely access the vehicle’s electronic systems.

Programming Procedure

• Step 1: Schedule service with an automotive professional experienced in smart key technology. Confirm that they have the correct diagnostic equipment for your vehicle’s system.
• Step 2: If the vehicle is drivable, consider bringing it to the service location. This may reduce the overall cost compared to mobile services, which often include travel or convenience fees.
• Step 3: Gather all smart key remotes you wish to use. During programming, the system may erase existing remotes, so every fob should be present and reprogrammed together to maintain full access.
• Step 4: At the service site, the technician will connect a diagnostic tool to the OBD-II port beneath the dashboard to access your vehicle’s onboard control system.
• Step 5: The technician will launch the key registration process. Each remote will be digitally paired with the vehicle to enable remote entry and engine start functions.
