<h1>2010 Lincoln MKX &ndash; Key Fob&nbsp;</h1> <p><font size="3"><b>This vehicle supports two types of keys:</b> Remote Head Keys and Intelligent Access Keys. Use the correct procedure based on the type of key you are programming. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b> Note:</b> You must have two previously programmed keys in order to program an additional one yourself. If fewer than two programmed keys are available, professional assistance will be required. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Remote Head Key Programming Steps:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Insert the first working key into the ignition. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Turn the ignition to the ON position and leave it on for 3 to 10 seconds. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Turn the ignition OFF and remove the first key. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Within 10 seconds, insert the second working key into the ignition. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Turn the ignition to the ON position and leave it on for 3 to 10 seconds. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Turn the ignition OFF and remove the second key. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Within 10 seconds, insert the new, unprogrammed key into the ignition. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Turn the ignition to the ON position and keep it there for at least 6 seconds. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 9: Remove the newly programmed key. If the key was programmed successfully, it will be able to start the vehicle and control the keyless entry functions. If unsuccessful, wait 10 seconds and repeat Steps 1&ndash;8.&nbsp;</font></li> </ul> <p><font size="3"><b>Note:</b> You must have two existing programmed Intelligent Access Keys in the vehicle during programming. A maximum of four keys can be programmed to the system. Ensure the vehicle is OFF, and all doors are closed before beginning. Complete the full procedure within 30 seconds. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Intelligent Access Key Programming Steps:</b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Place the new, unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key in the pocket located inside the glove box. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Press the unlock button on the driver or passenger door three times. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Press and release the brake pedal once. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Press the lock button on the same door three times. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Press and release the brake pedal once again. The Start/Stop button indicator will begin flashing rapidly, confirming that the vehicle has entered programming mode and has detected the two programmed keys inside. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 6: Within one minute, press the Start/Stop button. &ndash; A message will appear in the instrument cluster confirming successful programming. &ndash; If four keys have already been programmed, a message reading &ldquo;MAX # OF FOBS LEARNED&rdquo; will appear, and no additional keys can be added. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Remove the newly programmed key from the glove box pocket. Press the lock or unlock button to exit programming mode. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 8: Confirm that the keyless entry buttons function correctly and that the Push-Button Start operates the vehicle.</font></li> </ul>
