Important: This guide outlines spare remote head key using your vehicle’s onboard system. To complete the process, you must have two working, programmed keys and one new, unprogrammed key. The procedure will not work if fewer than two programmed keys are available. Perform all steps in the exact order listed. Follow the required time intervals between steps. Remote Head Key Programming Steps:

  • Step 1: Confirm the ignition is off and all vehicle doors are closed.
  • Step 2: Insert the first programmed key into the ignition.
  • Step 3: Turn the key from OFF to ON (do not start the engine).
  • Step 4: Keep the ignition ON for at least 3 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds. '
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition OFF and remove the first key.
  • Step 6: Wait 3 to 10 seconds before proceeding.
  • Step 7: Insert the second programmed key into the ignition.
  • Step 8: Turn the ignition from OFF to ON again.
  • Step 9: Keep the ignition ON for at least 3 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
  • Step 10: Turn the ignition OFF and remove the second key.
  • Step 11: Wait 3 to 10 seconds again.
  • Step 12: Insert the new, unprogrammed key into the ignition cylinder.
  • Step 13: Turn the ignition from OFF to ON.
  • Step 14: Keep the ignition ON for at least 6 seconds to complete the programming process.
  • Step 15: Turn the ignition OFF and remove the newly programmed key.
  • Step 16: Test the new key by starting the vehicle. Ensure the engine starts and runs normally.
  • Step 17: If the key has integrated remote functions, test the lock and unlock buttons to confirm they are working correctly.
