2011 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob and Ignition Key – LaCrosse
Important Notice: The 2011 Buick LaCrosse supports two different systems depending on the key type: traditional flip keys and smart key (Keyless Access) remotes. Programming methods vary based on your situation and the type of key you are using.
Section 1: Ignition Key Programming – Flip Key Models
A. If All Keys Are Lost: This vehicle does not support onboard programming if no working key is available. A new ignition key must be programmed using specialized diagnostic tools by a qualified technician.
B. If You Have One Working Flip Key and Want to Add Another:
- Step 1: Insert the existing programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
- Step 2: Turn the ignition back to the OFF position and remove the key.
- Step 3: Within five seconds, insert the new key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
- Step 4: Wait for the security light to turn off, confirming the new key has been accepted.
- Step 5: Repeat Steps 1–4 to program additional keys if needed.
