Programming Guide for 2011 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob

Important Notice: The 2011 model supports onboard programming for remote keyless entry fobs using the Driver Information Center (DIC). A total of up to eight remote fobs can be programmed. All desired remotes must be programmed during the same session, as any not included will be erased from the system.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Insert the Ignition Key Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position without starting the engine. This allows access to the Driver Information Center.
  • Step 2: Open the Remote Key Programming Menu Press the Vehicle Information button repeatedly until the display shows PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY.
  • Step 3: Enter Remote Learning Mode Press the SET/RESET button to activate programming mode. The display will change to REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE, indicating the vehicle is ready to accept remote fob input.
  • Step 4: Program the First Remote Hold the first remote in your hand. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously. Keep holding the buttons for approximately 15 seconds. A chime will sound when the remote has been successfully paired. For vehicles with memory seat functions, the first remote is automatically assigned to Driver 1, and the second to Driver 2.
  • Step 5: Program Additional Remotes (Optional) To add more remotes, repeat Step 4 with each one. A maximum of eight remotes can be stored in the vehicle’s memory. Each successfully programmed remote will trigger a chime.
  • Step 6: Exit Programming Mode Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key. This exits the programming mode and saves all programmed remotes.
  • Step 7: Test All Remotes Verify the functionality of each remote by pressing the lock, unlock, and trunk buttons to confirm proper operation.

Additional Considerations:

Program All Remotes Together: Any remote not programmed during the session will be removed from the system.

Check Remote Battery: Ensure each remote has a fresh battery to prevent signal issues during programming.

Memory Settings: Remote assignment may affect driver profiles for seat and mirror positions in equipped vehicles.

Session Duration: The entire programming process typically takes only a few minutes and requires no tools.
