<h1>2011 Lincoln MKS Intelligent Access Key (Smart Key with Push-Button Start)</h1> <p><font size="3"><b>Important:</b> You may program up to four Intelligent Access Keys for the 2011 Lincoln MKS. This procedure requires that you have two previously programmed smart keys inside the vehicle, as well as the new unprogrammed key ready. If you have fewer than two programmed keys, key programming must be completed by a professional using specialized equipment. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Before starting:</b> Ensure the vehicle is off. Make sure all doors are closed and remain closed throughout the process. Perform all steps within 30 seconds of beginning. If a step is done out of order, wait at least one minute before starting over. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Step-by-Step Programming Procedure:</b></font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3"> Step 1: Place the new, unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key into the backup slot inside the glove box. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 2: Press the power unlock button (on the driver or passenger door) three times. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 3: Press and release the brake pedal once. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Press the power lock button (on the driver or passenger door) three times. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 5: Press and release the brake pedal once again. The START/STOP button light should begin to rapidly flash, indicating that the vehicle has entered key programming mode and that two valid smart keys are detected.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 6: Within one minute, press the START/STOP button once. If successful, the vehicle will program the new key and display a confirmation message.
