Programming Guide for 2011 Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs through a specific ignition cycle method. All remotes must be programmed during the same session. Any remotes not included during the procedure will be erased from memory and will need to be reprogrammed to function again.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Sit inside the vehicle with all doors fully closed. Make sure all remote fobs you plan to program are on hand before beginning.
- Step 2: Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch. Do not start the engine.
- Step 3: Within 10 seconds, turn the ignition key from the OFF position to the RUN position eight times, ending with the key in the RUN position on the eighth cycle. Perform this sequence smoothly and quickly.
- Step 4: Wait for confirmation—the door locks will automatically lock and then unlock, indicating that the vehicle has entered programming mode.
- Step 5: Within 20 seconds, press any button on the first remote fob. The door locks will cycle again to confirm that the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 6: If programming a second remote, press any button on it within 20 seconds of programming the first. The locks will cycle again to indicate successful registration.
- Step 7: Repeat Step 6 for any additional remotes, ensuring each is programmed within 20 seconds of the previous.
- Step 8: After all remotes have been programmed, turn the ignition key to the OFF position. The door locks will cycle one final time to indicate that the vehicle has exited programming mode.
- Step 9: Remove the key and test all programmed remotes to verify the lock and unlock functions are operating as expected.
- Step 10: If any remote fails to respond, restart the process from Step 1, ensuring all steps are completed within the required time frame.
Additional Considerations: Program all remotes in one session. Remotes not included will no longer function. Timing is crucial. Ignition cycles and button presses must be performed within the required windows to avoid programming failure. Ensure remotes have working batteries. Low battery levels may prevent successful programming.
