Programming Guide for 2011 Integrated Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Keyhead Transmitter)

Important Notice: This vehicle supports onboard programming for an additional key only if two working, previously programmed ignition keys are available. The new key must be compatible, unprogrammed, and equipped with an integrated keyless entry remote. If only one programmed key is available, this procedure cannot be completed.

Programming Instructions:

  • Step 1: Gather the following items before starting: Two previously programmed ignition keys One new unprogrammed key with integrated remote All keys placed inside the vehicle with you
  • Step 2: Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors to avoid interruptions during the process.
  • Step 3: Insert the first programmed key into the ignition.
  • Step 4: Turn the ignition to the ON position (do not start the engine). Keep the ignition ON for at least 3 seconds but no longer than 10 seconds.
  • Step 5: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the first key from the ignition.
  • Step 6: Wait at least 3 seconds but no longer than 10 seconds before proceeding to the next step.
  • Step 7: Insert the second programmed key into the ignition.
  • Step 8: Turn the ignition to the ON position and leave it ON for at least 3 seconds but no more than 10 seconds.
  • Step 9: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the second key.
  • Step 10: Wait at least 3 seconds but no longer than 10 seconds.
  • Step 11: Insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition.
  • Step 12: Turn the ignition to the ON position and leave it ON for at least 6 seconds. This allows the vehicle's system to detect and program the new key.
  • Step 13: Turn the ignition to the OFF position and remove the newly programmed key.
  • Step 14: Wait a few seconds, then insert the new key again and attempt to start the engine.
  • Step 15: If the engine starts, the key has been successfully programmed.
  • Step 16: Test the lock and unlock buttons on the integrated remote to verify the keyless entry functions are working.
  • Step 17: If the key fails to start the vehicle or the remote does not function, wait 10 seconds and repeat the full procedure from Step 3.

Additional Considerations: Both original keys must be fully functional and recognized by the vehicle. Any issues with either key may prevent programming. All timing windows must be strictly followed. Delays beyond 10 seconds can cancel the programming attempt. Do not attempt to start the engine during any part of the programming steps. Use only the ON position until testing is complete. Check the new key’s battery if the remote entry functions fail, even if the engine starts successfully.
