Step-by-Step Programming Instructions:
Programming the Key Portion of the Remote Head Key
- Step 1: Ensure the key is cut to match your vehicle’s ignition system
- Step 2: Insert an existing working key into the ignition cylinder.
- Step 3: Turn the ignition to the ON position (without cranking the engine) for 5 seconds, then turn the ignition back to OFF and remove the key.
- Step 4: Within 10 seconds, insert a second working key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position. The security light will flash twice. Turn the ignition back to OFF and remove the key.
- Step 5: Within 10 seconds, insert the new (unprogrammed) key into the ignition and turn it to the ON position.
- Step 6: The security light will light up for 3 seconds, indicating the new key has been successfully programmed.
- Step 7: If you need to program additional keys, repeat steps 4, 5, and 6 for each additional key. All new keys must be programmed within 30 seconds of removing the second programmed key.
- Step 8: To exit programming mode, leave the ignition switched ON for more than 30 seconds. Programming the Remote Portion of the Remote Head Key:
- Step 9: Locate the Data Port under the driver’s side dashboard, usually to the right of the steering column.
- Step 10: Insert the keys into the ignition and leave them in the OFF position.
- Step 11: Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 1 and 4. Connect the Data Port terminals 1 and 4 with a suitable jumper wire. Keep the jumper wire connected throughout the programming process.
- Step 12: Within 10 seconds of connecting the jumper wire, press the Hazard Switch 6 times. The doors will lock and unlock once, indicating the system is in programming mode.
- Step 13: Press the LOCK button on the remote to be registered three times within 10 seconds. The door will lock and unlock once, confirming the successful programming.
- Step 14: Repeat step 13 with up to 4 remotes (including any existing remotes) within one minute. After each programming, the doors will lock and unlock once.
- Step 15: Disconnect the jumper wire and remove the keys from the ignition. Programming the F.A.S.T.-Key System:
- Step 16: Remove the emergency key from the F.A.S.T.-key.
- Step 17: While pressing the lock release button, remove the cover of the ignition switch.
- Step 18: Insert the emergency key into the ignition switch.
- Step 19: Insert the already programmed F.A.S.T.-key into the emergency key.
- Step 20: Turn the emergency key with F.A.S.T.-key to the ON position. Perform the following steps within 30 seconds.
- Step 21: Remove the F.A.S.T.-key from the emergency key.
- Step 22: With the first valid F.A.S.T.-key, press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds, then press the LOCK button during this time.
- Step 23: Release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons in sequence within 10 seconds of pressing the LOCK button
- Step 24: With the second valid F.A.S.T.-key, press the UNLOCK button for 4 to 10 seconds, then press the LOCK button during this time.
- Step 25: Release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons in sequence within 10 seconds of pressing the LOCK button. The immobilizer display will blink on the information screen in the multi-information display.
- Step 26: Press the LOCK button twice with the blank F.A.S.T.-key. The immobilizer display will remain on for 30 seconds.
- Step 27: This completes the registration of the F.A.S.T.-key. The indicator light will illuminate each time a button is pressed, signaling proper keyless entry functionality.
