(Smart Key System Only)
If You Have One Recognized Remote: You may program additional remotes if at least one is currently paired with the vehicle.
(Note: Vehicles sold in Canada require two recognized remotes to initiate programming.)
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off.
- Step 2: Place the recognized remote(s) in the cupholder. Keep the new remote within reach.
- Step 3: Insert the mechanical key into the driver’s door lock cylinder.
- Step 4: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within five seconds.
- Step 5: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display: “Ready to Learn Electronic Key #2, 3, or 4.”
- Step 6: Insert the new remote into the transmitter pocket with the buttons facing forward. (The transmitter pocket is located inside the center console between the driver and front passenger seats.)
- Step 7: A chime will sound once the remote is programmed. The DIC will update to show the next key number or display “Maximum Number of Electronic Keys Learned.”
- Step 8: Press the ignition knob to exit programming mode.
- Step 9: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the unlock button twice to verify functionality.
- Step 10: To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 6 through 9.

- Step 8: Once prompted, press the ignition switch again.
- Step 9: Repeat the countdown process two more times by following Steps 7 and 8 again.
- Step 10: After the third cycle, a chime will sound and the DIC will display: “Ready to Learn Electronic Key #1.” (At this point, all previous remote pairings will be cleared from the system.)
