<h1>2012 Lincoln MKS Intelligent Access Key (Smart Key with Push-Button Start)</h1> <p><font size="3"><b>Important Notes:</b> A maximum of four Intelligent Access Keys can be programmed to the 2012 Lincoln MKS. You must have two previously programmed keys inside the vehicle and the new unprogrammed key readily accessible. If two programmed keys are not available, programming must be completed by a qualified technician using specialized equipment. All doors must remain closed throughout the procedure. Perform each step within 30 seconds of beginning. If any step is done incorrectly or out of order, wait at least one minute before restarting. </font></p> <p><font size="3"><b>Step-by-Step Smart Key Programming Procedure: </b> </font></p> <ul> <li><font size="3">Step 1: Ensure the ignition is OFF and that all vehicle doors are closed.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 2: Place the new, unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key in the backup slot located inside the glove box.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 3: Press the power unlock button on the driver or passenger door panel three times. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 4: Press and release the brake pedal once.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 5: Press the power lock button on the driver or passenger door panel three times.</font></li> <li><font size="3"> Step 6: Press and release the brake pedal once again. The indicator on the START/STOP button should begin to rapidly flash, confirming that the vehicle has entered programming mode and has detected two valid keys inside. </font></li> <li><font size="3">Step 7: Within one minute, press the START/STOP button once. If successful, the system will register the new key and display a confirmation message.
