2012 Suzuki Equator Keyless Entry Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: Before starting, gather all remote transmitters you plan to use. Once you begin programming, all existing remotes will be erased and must be reprogrammed during this session.

Programming Procedure:

  • Step 1: Close and lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.
  • Step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and remove it completely. Repeat this step a total of six times within 10 seconds. If done correctly, the hazard lights will flash, confirming you’ve entered programming mode. Tip: If no response, repeat the process and ensure each key insertion is fully completed.
  • Step 3: Insert the key again and turn it to the ACC (Accessory) position.
  • Step 4: Within 5 seconds, press any button on the first remote. The hazard lights will flash again to indicate successful registration. Only press the button once—pressing it multiple times may cause failure.
  • Step 5: To add another remote: Use the driver’s side switch to unlock, then lock all doors. Within 5 seconds, press any button on the next remote. Watch for the hazard lights to flash, confirming the remote is programmed. Repeat for each additional remote.
  • Step 6: Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and remove it from the ignition.
  • Step 7: Unlock the doors using the driver’s power switch and open the driver’s door to complete the process.
