Programming Guide for 2013 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – Cadillac SRX
Important Notice: The 2013 Cadillac SRX supports onboard programming of keyless entry remote fobs, provided the vehicle is equipped with the Keyless Access system. The programming process varies depending on whether at least one functional transmitter is available. Follow the applicable procedure below.
If You Have One Recognized Remote (Keyless Access Models Only):
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely off.
- Step 2: Place the currently recognized transmitter in the front cupholder or nearby inside the vehicle.
- Step 3: Take the emergency key from the new transmitter and insert it into the driver’s side exterior door lock.
- Step 4: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 5: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display READY TO LEARN ELECTRONIC KEY #2, 3, 4, etc.
- Step 6: Open the center console between the front seats. Lift the tray to access the transmitter pocket, located at the front of the storage area.
- Step 7: Place the new remote into the transmitter pocket with the buttons facing forward.
- Step 8: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The DIC will indicate when the remote has been successfully programmed.
- Step 9: Remove the programmed remote and press either the Unlock or Lock button to confirm operation.
- Step 10: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 6 through 9 for each additional transmitter.
- Step 11: When finished, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 12: Test all programmed remotes to ensure each one functions correctly.
If You Have No Working Remotes (Keyless Access Models Only): ⚠️ This procedure is not available on vehicles sold in Canada. ⏱️ Approximate completion time: 30 minutes
- Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is completely off.
- Step 2: Insert the emergency key into the driver’s side door lock.
- Step 3: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 4: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
- Step 5: Wait approximately 10 minutes. Once the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN, press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- Step 6: The DIC will revert back to REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. Repeat Step 5 two more times. After the third cycle, all previously stored remotes will be erased.
- Step 7: The DIC will now show READY FOR REMOTE #1.
- Step 8: Open the center console and lift the tray to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 9: Insert the first new remote into the transmitter pocket, ensuring the buttons are facing forward.
- Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm the remote has been programmed.
- Step 11: Remove the remote and press either Unlock or Lock to verify functionality.
- Step 12: Repeat Steps 8 through 11 to program each additional remote (up to a total of 8 transmitters).
- Step 13: After all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 14: Test each remote to ensure proper operation of keyless entry functions.
