Programming Guide for 2013 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – Cadillac XTS
Programming with a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method when one working transmitter is already available. The vehicle can support up to eight total transmitters.
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all transmitters are present.
- Step 2: Open the center console storage area and lift the storage tray to reveal the transmitter pocket.
- Step 3: Place the recognized transmitter into the transmitter pocket.
- Step 4: Remove the key lock cylinder cap from the driver’s door handle.
- Step 5: Insert the mechanical key into the door lock cylinder and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 6: Wait for the Driver Information Center (DIC) to display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.”
- Step 7: Replace the recognized transmitter in the pocket with the new transmitter.
- Step 8: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm when the transmitter is successfully programmed.
- Step 9: Remove the transmitter and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to verify operation.
- Step 10: To add more remotes, repeat Steps 7 through 9.
- Step 11: After all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
Programming without a Recognized Transmitter: If no programmed transmitters are available, follow this 30-minute procedure. Not supported for Canadian vehicles.
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all transmitters to be programmed are present.
- Step 2: Remove the key lock cylinder cap from the driver’s door handle.
- Step 3: Insert the mechanical key into the driver door lock and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 4: Wait for the DIC to display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 5: Wait 10 minutes. When prompted with “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN,” press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- Step 6: Repeat Step 5 two more times. After the third cycle, all previously stored transmitters will be erased.
- Step 7: When the DIC shows “READY FOR REMOTE #1,” place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket.
- Step 8: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. A confirmation will appear when the transmitter is programmed.
- Step 9: Remove the transmitter and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to test it.
- Step 10: Repeat Steps 7 through 9 for any additional remotes.
- Step 11: Once all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to complete the process.
