2014 BMW 2 Series – Smart Key Remote Fob Programming Instructions

Important Notice: The 2014 BMW 2 Series does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming a new remote requires the use of advanced diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a qualified automotive technician or authorized dealer.

Programming Procedure:

• Step 1: Confirm that the replacement smart key remote fob is specifically compatible with the 2014 BMW 2 Series. Using an incorrect or non-matching fob will prevent successful programming.

• Step 3: Ask whether all existing remotes need to be present during the session. Some systems will erase any remotes not included in the programming process.

• Step 5: Once at the service location, the technician will connect professional diagnostic equipment to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port to access the key programming system.
