Programming Guide for 2014 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: If no working keys or remotes are available, programming requires a technician with specialized equipment. For security reasons, some regional regulations may limit owner programming under certain conditions.
Programming a Flip Key – With One Working Key Present:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat with all doors closed.
- Step 2: Insert the working flip key into the ignition.
- Step 3: Turn the key to the ON/RUN position and wait a few seconds.
- Step 4: Turn the key to the OFF position and remove it.
- Step 5: Insert the new key into the ignition within five seconds.
- Step 6: Turn it to the ON/RUN position. The security light will turn off once programming is complete.
- Step 7: Remove the key and test its function.
- Step 8: Repeat Steps 2 through 7 to add additional keys as needed.
Programming a Flip Key – When No Working Key Is Available: (Key vehicles only – requires three ignition cycles)
- Step 1: Insert a new, unprogrammed key into the ignition.
- Step 2: Turn the key to the ON/RUN position. The security indicator will illuminate.
- Step 3: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
- Step 4: Turn the ignition back to the OFF position.
- Step 5: Repeat Steps 2 through 4 two more times (for a total of three 10-minute cycles).
- Step 6: After the third cycle, turn the ignition to the ON/RUN position again. The new key will now be recognized.
- Step 7: At this stage, any previously programmed keys will be erased.
- Step 8: To add more keys, use the steps under “Programming a Flip Key – With One Working Key Present.”
Programming a Smart Key – With One Recognized Remote Available: (Push-button start vehicles only)
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and all remotes (both working and new) are with you.
- Step 2: Place the working smart key nearby.
- Step 3: Remove the emergency key from the new transmitter.
- Step 4: Insert it into the door lock on the driver’s side.
- Step 5: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within ten seconds.
- Step 6: The instrument display will show: “Ready for Remote #2, 3, 4, or 5.”
- Step 7: Remove the cupholder liner inside the center console to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 8: Place the new remote into the pocket with the buttons facing up.
- Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once accepted, the system will be ready for the next transmitter.
- Step 10: Remove the remote and press the unlock button.
- Step 11: Repeat Steps 8 through 10 for each additional remote.
- Step 12: When finished, press and hold the ignition button for at least 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Test all remotes for full functionality.
Programming a Smart Key – When No Recognized Remote Is Available (Push-button start vehicles only – requires three ignition cycles)
- Step 1: Remove the emergency key from the new remote.
- Step 2: Insert it into the driver’s door lock and turn to the unlock position five times within ten seconds.
- Step 3: The Driver Information Center will display: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
- Step 4: After 10 minutes, the message will change to: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.”
- Step 5: Press the ignition button once. The system will return to the pending message.
- Step 6: Repeat Step 5 two more times, waiting 10 minutes between each attempt.
- Step 7: After the third cycle, the display will show: “Ready for Remote #1.”
- Step 8: Access the transmitter pocket by removing the cupholder liner in the center console.
- Step 9: Insert the new remote into the pocket with the buttons facing up.
- Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to register the transmitter.
- Step 11: The system will prompt to program the next remote.
- Step 12: Remove the programmed remote and press unlock to confirm.
- Step 13: Repeat Steps 9 through 12 for each additional remote.
- Step 14: When all remotes are programmed, press and hold the ignition button for at least 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 15: Test each remote for locking, unlocking, and starting functions.
