Programming Guide for 2014 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: This vehicle supports programming of remote fobs whether a recognized transmitter is present or not. When no working remote is available, the process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. All remotes to be programmed must be on hand during setup.
Programming a Remote – With One Recognized Transmitter Available:
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and gather both the recognized and new transmitters.
- Step 2: Remove the emergency key from the working transmitter.
- Step 3: Place the recognized transmitter in the front cupholder.
- Step 4: Remove the cover from the driver’s side door lock.
- Step 5: Insert the emergency key into the door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 6: The dashboard display will show: “Ready to Learn Electronic Key #2, 3, 4, etc.”
- Step 7: Open the center console storage compartment and locate the transmitter pocket.
- Step 8: Place the new transmitter into the pocket with the buttons facing upward.
- Step 9: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once the remote is recognized, the display will prompt for the next transmitter.
- Step 10: Remove the remote from the pocket and press either the lock or unlock button.
- Step 11: Repeat Steps 8 through 10 for each additional transmitter.
- Step 12: Once programming is complete, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 13: Reinsert the emergency key back into each transmitter.
Programming a Remote – Without Any Recognized Transmitter: (Estimated duration: 30 minutes)
- Step 1: Confirm the vehicle is off and have all new remotes with you.
- Step 2: Remove the emergency key from one of the new transmitters.
- Step 3: Remove the cap from the driver’s door lock cylinder.
- Step 4: Insert the key into the door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 5: The display will show: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
- Step 6: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the display prompts: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.”
- Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The system will return to the pending message.
- Step 8: Repeat Step 7 two additional times. After the third cycle, any previously stored remotes will be erased.
- Step 9: The display will then read: “Ready for Remote #1.”
- Step 10: Open the center console and remove any liner to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 11: Insert the new transmitter into the pocket with the buttons facing upward.
- Step 12: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to register the remote.
- Step 13: Remove the remote and press either the lock or unlock button to confirm.
- Step 14: Repeat Steps 11 through 13 for each additional remote.
- Step 15: After all desired transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 16: Reinsert the emergency key into each transmitter.
