Programming Guide for 2014 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob – Cadillac XTS
Programming with a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method if you have one working transmitter available. The vehicle supports up to eight remote transmitters.
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is off and that you have all transmitters with you.
- Step 2: Open the center console storage compartment and lift the storage tray to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 3: Place the recognized transmitter into the transmitter pocket located inside the center console.
- Step 4: Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver’s door handle. Insert the mechanical key and turn it counterclockwise (unlock) five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 5: The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #2, 3, 4, ETC.”
- Step 6: Replace the recognized transmitter with the new one in the transmitter pocket.
- Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Once the transmitter is programmed, the DIC will display confirmation.
- Step 8: Remove the transmitter and press the LOCK or UNLOCK button to verify functionality.
- Step 9: To add more transmitters, repeat Steps 6 through 8.
- Step 10: After programming all transmitters, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
Programming without a Recognized Transmitter: Use this method if no functional transmitters are available. This method is not available in Canada and requires approximately 30 minutes.
- Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is off. Have all transmitters ready.
- Step 2: Remove the key lock cylinder cap and insert the mechanical key into the driver door lock.
- Step 3: Turn the key to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The DIC will display “REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.”
- Step 4: Wait 10 minutes until the display reads “PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN,” then press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- Step 5: Repeat Step 4 two more times (a total of 30 minutes). After the third cycle, all previously stored transmitters will be erased.
- Step 6: When “READY FOR REMOTE #1” is displayed, place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket inside the center console.
- Step 7: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm successful programming.
- Step 8: Remove the transmitter and press LOCK or UNLOCK on the remote to test.
- Step 9: Repeat Steps 6 through 8 for any additional transmitters.
- Step 10: When finished, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for approximately 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
