2015 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob and Ignition Key – LaCrosse
Overview: The 2015 Buick LaCrosse may be equipped with either a traditional ignition key or a smart key system (Keyless Access). Follow the appropriate procedure based on your vehicle’s configuration and whether you have access to a working key or transmitter.
Section 1: Traditional Ignition Key Programming
A. Programming with a Working Key:
- Step 1: Insert the current programmed ignition key and turn it to the ON/RUN position.
- Step 2: Turn the ignition to OFF and remove the key.
- Step 3: Insert the new key to be programmed and turn it to the ON/RUN position within five seconds.
- Step 4: Wait for the security light to turn off, indicating successful programming.
- Step 5: Repeat Steps 1–4 for each additional key you wish to program.
B. Programming Without a Recognized Key: This procedure takes approximately 30 minutes and can only be completed if no previously programmed key is available.
- Step 1: Insert the new key into the ignition and turn it to the ON/RUN position. The security light will illuminate.
- Step 2: Wait 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
- Step 3: Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Step 4: Repeat Steps 1–3 two more times (for a total of three cycles).
- Step 5: After the third cycle, turn the key to ON/RUN; the key is now programmed.
- Step 6: To add additional keys, follow the steps under “Programming with a Working Key.”
Section 2: Smart Key Programming – Keyless Access Models
A. Programming with One Recognized Transmitter:
- Step 1: Place the recognized transmitter in the front cupholder.
- Step 2: Insert the emergency key from the new transmitter into the driver’s door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 3: The DIC will display “Ready For Remote #2, 3, 4 or 5.”
- Step 4: Place the new transmitter in the transmitter pocket, located inside the armrest storage area.
- Step 5: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The DIC will confirm when the transmitter is accepted.
- Step 6: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the Unlock button.
- Step 7: Repeat Steps 4–6 for additional remotes.
- Step 8: When finished, press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.
B. Programming Without a Recognized Transmitter: This procedure requires approximately 30 minutes and allows for programming of up to eight transmitters.
- Step 1: Insert the emergency key from the new transmitter into the driver’s door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds.
- Step 2: The DIC will show “Remote Learn Pending, Please Wait.”
- Step 3: After 10 minutes, the DIC will display “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.” Press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- Step 4: The DIC will again display “Remote Learn Pending, Please Wait.”
- Step 5: Repeat Step 3 two more times for a total of three 10-minute cycles.
- Step 6: After the third cycle, the DIC will display “Ready For Remote #1.”
- Step 7: Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket inside the armrest compartment.
- Step 8: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button.
- Step 9: Remove the transmitter and press the Unlock button.
- Step 10: Repeat Steps 7–9 to program additional transmitters.
- Step 11: Press and hold the ENGINE START/STOP button for 12 seconds to exit programming mode when complete.
