Programming Guide for 2015 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: If all keys or remote fobs are lost, onboard programming is not supported in some regions and may require assistance from a certified technician. Programming procedures differ depending on whether a working key or remote is currently available.
Programming a Flip Key – With One Recognized Key Available:
- Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat and ensure all doors are closed.
- Step 2: Insert the existing, programmed flip key into the ignition.
- Step 3: Turn the key to the ON/RUN position and leave it there briefly.
- Step 4: Turn the key back to the OFF position and remove it.
- Step 5: Within five seconds, insert the new key to be programmed.
- Step 6: Turn the new key to the ON/RUN position.
- Step 7: Watch for the security light to turn off, indicating that the key has been accepted.
- Step 8: Remove the key and test it by starting the vehicle.
- Step 9: Repeat Steps 2 through 8 for each additional flip key you wish to program.
Programming a Flip Key – With No Recognized Key Available: (Key-based ignition vehicles only)
- Step 1: Make sure the vehicle is off and all keys you intend to program are with you.
- Step 2: Insert the new flip key into the ignition.
- Step 3: Turn the key to the ON/RUN position. The security light will illuminate.
- Step 4: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the security light turns off.
- Step 5: Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
- Step 6: Repeat Steps 3 through 5 two more times, for a total of three 10-minute cycles.
- Step 7: After the third cycle, turn the key to ON/RUN again. The key is now programmed.
- Step 8: All previously stored keys will be erased and must be reprogrammed if needed.
- Step 9: To add more keys, follow the steps in “Programming a Flip Key – With One Recognized Key Available.”
Programming a Smart Key – With One Recognized Remote Available: (Keyless access models with push-button start)
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and have all remotes (both programmed and new) with you.
- Step 2: Keep the working remote nearby.
- Step 3: Remove the emergency key from the new remote.
- Step 4: Insert the key into the driver’s door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within ten seconds.
- Step 5: The instrument display will read: “Ready for Remote #2, 3, 4 or 5.”
- Step 6: Open the center console and remove the cupholder liner to access the transmitter pocket.
- Step 7: Place the new smart key into the pocket with the buttons facing upward.
- Step 8: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The display will confirm when the remote has been accepted.
- Step 9: Remove the remote from the pocket and press the unlock button.
- Step 10: Repeat Steps 7 through 9 for each additional remote.
- Step 11: After programming is complete, press and hold the ignition button for at least 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 12: Test all remotes to confirm lock/unlock and engine start functions.
Programming a Smart Key – With No Recognized Remote Available: (Keyless access models with push-button start)
- Step 1: Remove the emergency key from the new remote fob.
- Step 2: Insert it into the driver’s door lock and turn it to the unlock position five times within ten seconds.
- Step 3: The display will show: “Remote Learn Pending. Please Wait.”
- Step 4: Wait approximately 10 minutes until the message changes to: “Press Engine Start Button to Learn.”
- Step 5: Press the ignition button. The system will return to the pending message.
- Step 6: Repeat Step 5 two more times, with each cycle lasting 10 minutes.
- Step 7: After the third cycle, the display will show: “Ready for Remote #1.”
- Step 8: Remove the cupholder liner to access the transmitter pocket located inside the center console.
- Step 9: Place the new remote into the pocket with the buttons facing up.
- Step 10: Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. The display will confirm that the remote has been accepted.
- Step 11: Remove the remote and press the unlock button to complete pairing.
- Step 12: Repeat Steps 9 through 11 for each additional remote.
- Step 13: Press and hold the ignition button for at least 10 seconds to exit programming mode.
- Step 14: Verify each remote can lock, unlock, and start the vehicle.
